TRENDnet introduces high speed wireless access point TEW-690AP N450 – the first high speed N450 single band wireless access point introduced into the market at the end of Dec 2010. Like TEW-691GR N450 which was the first wireless router with N450 introduced into the market, not much wireless routers introduced with N450 in single band except D-Link DIR-665 N450 with dual band selectable. Even though then many wireless routers were introduced with N600 label but for dual band, means each band with 300Mbps (all are in theoretical speeds, actual speeds may vary).
TRENDnet TEW-690AP N450 access point is powered with the latest wireless technology 802.11n (the ratified version – not the draft version) with Intelligent MIMO antenna technology to deliver high speeds of up to 450Mbps (in ideal conditions) and large network coverage.

TEW-690AP N450 access point supports the multiple SSIDs which is ideal for offices which require segregating the networks based on the groups of users or certain sections. You can create separate SSID which is designed specifically for your office guests without compromising your critical private network resources.
Should your business network includes the RADIUS sever for Authentication – you can implement the system into the wireless network. The TEW-690AP supports the RADIUS for Authentications. It also supports industrial Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2). To connect to legacy clients (wireless b/g based devices), it is backward compatible and also supports the 64/128-bit WEP encryption.
Connecting the clients has never been easier. If your clients support the WPS feature, you can connect them easily by just pressing the WPS button to create secure connection to the network.

The figure below shows a computer network diagram which uses the TEW-690ap as the wireless access point connected to the Gigabit switch and the router with the broadband internet connection.
TEW-690ap can be configured as the AP, wireless repeater, or as WDS bridging. You can configure the device as the repeater of your high-speed N450 wireless router TEW691GR N450 wireless router in your large home or office.
