The drive can perform a compress backup with the ratio of 2:1 by adopting the LTO-4 Ultrium tape drive technology that capable of storing data up to 12.8TB. for small to medium businesses, this drive is an affordable solution, easy to install and help you manage the huge data backup unattended.
The 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader is equipped with one Ultrium SCSI or SAS tape drive and can hold up to eight data cartridges. You can connect the drive to a backup server with the gigabit NIC adapter and connect all the servers with gigabit NIC adapters to the same gigabit switch eliminating the bottleneck.
Generally when you store the cartridge offside as part of the disaster recovery plan, the cartridges are encrypted to prevent un-authorized access to the LTO-4 Ultrium data cartridges. The 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader supports data encryption for security reason.
