The DGND3700 N600 is the first ADSL2 wireless modem router introduced by NETGEAR which includes the gigabit WAN port for Cable connection besides it’s built-in ADSL modem. The previous models (DGND3300v2 ADSL modem router and DGN3500 gateway modem router) were not included the WAN gigabit router for Cable modem, only the built-in ADSL modem. However, you cannot use both for ADSL and Cable at the same for load balance or backup / failover. This modem router is designed for home environment – a single device for all the requirements in building high performance wireless computer network and sharing the ADSL internet services. For load balance router in business networks, you can consider Cisco RV082 dual WAN VPN router with load balance.
What this Product Does?
Share Storage with DLNA Compliant
Unlike the previous modem routers, the DGND3700 N600 ADSL2 wireless modem router includes 2 available USB ports for easy installation of the external storage to share with ReadySHARE technology and DLNA media server compliant. You can stream any HD media files to any types of DLNA compliant devices such as Blu-Ray players, HDTV, etc. But, you can not attach a USB printer for sharing with this USB router port. Should you require a printer server, you need to purchase any types of print-server or you can configure one computer for print-server or you can consider any types of wireless router with printer port.
High Speed Wired & Wireless Network
NEW Netgear DGND3700 N600 ADSL2 modem router is powered by the 802.11n technology with simultaneous dual band support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The router supports the advanced Quality of Service for video streaming and gaming traffic prioritization over other data traffic. The Dual band N technology is less interference – clean network ideal for smooth gaming and streaming environment.
DGND3700 N600 Adsl2 modem router is equipped with gigabit LAN interfaces for high speed wired connection for computers with gigabit enabled. When you don’t connect to the ADSL services, you can connect the gigabit WAN port to the Cable modem with gigabit Ethernet port ready such as Surfboard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem.
Advanced Security
DGND3700 N600 allows you add guest network in each band to allow you create secure guest access without providing your local network access for security reason. Providing internet access to your friends when they visit your home is safe without compromising the security.
For safe experience with the internet content, you can customize the internet filter for good contents. The router includes free Live parental control for safe internet experience. To monitor the internet usage you can use the broadband usage meter with customized reports.
Like other home wireless routers, this ADSL2 modem router supports the industrial wireless security WPA/WPA2 as well as the WEP for connecting to legacy clients. For protecting your network, the NAT and SPI features help protect against any internet threats including DoS attack.
The figure below shows a common home computer network diagram using this types of ADSL2 modem router (DGND3700). You can connect the ADSL port (RJ11) direct to the phone line (you can use splitter to split the phone and ADSL lines). The alternate solution is using the cable modem by connecting the gigabit WAN port to the cable modem when ADSL services are not available. You can connect the media player or Blu-Ray player and XBOX console to the network for gaming.
DGND3700 N600 ADSL2 wireless modem router is a single solution for your high performance wireless network in homes for fast response gaming and jitter-free HD video streaming. DGND4000 N750 Wireless Dual Band ADSL2 Modem Router
This is the up coming product that many people are waiting for particularly those DSL subscriber users. Like the DGND3700 series which includes one Ethernet WAN port for cable modem connection besides its built-in DSL modem, theoretically the speed is different than 3700 series, it’s an N750 router which speeds for 5GHz band is higher than the 2.4GHz band.
