MBR1200 CradlePoint Wireless Mobile Router with failover & failback feature, allows you to connect both wired Cable / DSL broadband internet and 3g or 4g network as the failover backup connection
Today, communication system becomes one of the very important business tools. And one of the very essential services to support your business communication system is wired broadband Internet connection (either Cable or ADSL). When system communication becomes very critical business tools, you should deploy such kinds of redundancy system in your communication system regarding Internet connection services.
Every single failure of each of critical elements in your communication systems will develop such disruptions to the continuity of your business operation. It is therefore, the system redundancy in Internet connection must be implemented, so if any single failure of the primary connection fails to function, the system must be able to failover to the second connection automatically. And when the primary connection is restored again, the system should be capable of failback to the primary connection. This is what we call a failover & failback system (See also the basic concept of server redundancy – server cluster). So when your wired broadband internet connection as the primary connection fails to function, your business will not be stopped. Your business must be able to keep operational as normal as it should to be. The system must be failover to the second system.
MBR1200 CradlePoint cellular router is an ideal solution for your business communication with redundancy system. The router supports the failover – failback feature which provides automatic redundant backup through an enabled wireless broadband data modem when your wired ISP service is interrupted due to either planned or unplanned outage. And the beauty with this feature is that the systems will automatically failback to your primary connection once the service is restored, thus keeping your business online without interruption to your client users or your business partner.
MBR1200 CradlePoint wireless mobile router is powered by the fastest wireless technology 802.11n – the final version of the draft 802.11n. For travelling users which need to access the network via the internet while on the go, the router supports multiple concurrent IPSec, L2TP, and PPTP VPN Pass-Through Sessions.
Other Application
Beside the deployment of the router by utilizing the failover/failback feature in small to medium businesses where wired internet connection is configured as the primary connection, and the 3G/4G broadband internet is configured as the failover system, you can also use the router in emergency response and travelling office.

Awesome mobile router, I want one!
This router is excellent, period. One issue I have is that it doesn’t appear to do intervlan routing, which has become a critical business feature. Outside of that, this router “is” my mobile office. It handles multiple streams with little to no hiccups at all.
My suggestion for anyone wanting vlan capability is to get the cisco SLM2008 8-port PoE managed gigabit switch if you need vlans in your environment; the switch is a major compliment to this router.

I agree that the router doesn’t support the inter-vlan routing. The router doesn’t support the multiple SSIDs. The router’s DHCP service supports only one subnet, you cannot create multiple zones with different subnets.
Cisco SLM2008 supports vlans, it’s good product for small biz. But to be able to communicate between the vlans, you need ‘layer 3′ device – which is a router. Cisco SLM2008 is not layer 3 Switch. I think Cisco RV 120W Wireless-N VPN Firewall is a good solution for small biz which supports inter-vlan routing.
