Clone Hard Drive

What happened if suddenly your hard disk with critical files crash and unfortunately you never has the hard disk backed up? It would be a nightmare. Besides regularly perform the critical files backup, we can make a Clone hard drive. Performing a Clone disk will help us backup all the information in the hard drive including the OS and the applications specific to the computer.

There some expensive Clone Disk software available at the market such as Norton Ghost 10, or Acronis True Image 9. There are many Clone Hard Drive software you can download from the internet, some of them are listed in the following paragraphs.

Performing a Clone Disk is similar to backing up the hard disk by mirroring the disk. Hard disk crash

This is a frustrated situation when the computer experiences a Hard disk crash particularly when we do not have a complete critical files and program applications backup. Upgrade the Hard Drive

  2. Ranish Partition Manager, this is very useful if you have multiple OS on the PC including Linux, FreeDos, Free BSD, or Windows. GUI is not available but command line interface is available for the Disk Clone operation, we can copy, move, and resize disk partition.
  3. DriveImage XML is a freeware you try for Clone Hard Drive operation. Rich of disk backup and recovery software features which allows you schedule the disk backup tasks. Disk Clone can be done while the drive is in use. Initiating the process can also be done in the command line interface.

To reduce the duration of the Disk Clone operation, you need to do a disk cleanup first to allow the system deleting the temporary files, emptying the recycle bin, cleanup the temporary internet files, history and other unnecessary files.

Preventing and preparing for the disaster will help you in a hard situations. Assure that you regularly backup the valuable files you don’t want to loose before the disaster comes.

In medium to large scale organizations which have many data servers to backup, performing a network backup will be much efficient and reduce the administrator tasks.
