Cisco SRP 500 Series Ready Platform Appliances

Cisco SRP 500 series are ready platform appliances – a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) that support direct connection to DSL and 3G services with VPN capability. The routers include all your requirements to build your small business computer network including the wireless access. The routers support future additional services including hosted IP telephony and hosted security.

Wireless Access

Cisco SRP 500 series are powered by the latest wireless N technology for high-speed wireless access for mobile devices – no wires for portability network access. An industrial wireless security encryption WPA/WPA2 (with WPS feature) is also included beside WEP (for legacy clients) to secure the wireless connection. You can also disable SSID to hide your wireless network from scanning.

Cisco SRP 500 supports multiple SSIDs to allow you create different security boundary up to 4 SSIDs for different groups of users. You can configure Guest access to allow your guests access the internet with their laptops when they come to your office without granting your sensitive internal network resources.

Wired LAN

Cisco SRP 500 series are equipped with 4-port Autosensing 10/100Mbps Switch with VLAN (virtual LAN) capability. Like multiple SSIDs in wireless network, with the VLAN feature you can create virtual LAN segments for security segregations. This is very important should you need to provide different security boundary for critical resource just for limited users. To expand the network, you can add LAN switches.

Both client computers in wireless and wired networks can be configured to obtain the IP address automatically from the DHCP server the SRP 500 supports.

VPN

Cisco SRP 500 series support the Virtual Private Network (VPN) to allow you create secure site to site IPSec VPN tunneling (up to 5 IPSec tunnels) with Hardware-accelerated Data Encryption Standard (DES), 3DES.

For service providers, Cisco SRP 500 Series ready platform is very ideal solution for easy deployment to their small business customers. The device supports for industry-standard TR-069 and XML-based provisioning for zero-touch deployments. With TR-069 you can easily manage the firmware, auto-configuration for auto and remote CPE configuration, status and performance control.
