Various Models of ADSL Wireless Modem

The easiest way to build a wireless computer network in home or in small offices with ADSL services is by installing the ADSL wireless modem, why? ADSL wireless modem is an all-in-one wireless router with built-in ADSL modem integrated into a single compact device. It’s easy to install and setup, just plug in the phone line into the RJ-11 port of the modem and power-on. You will instantly create the wireless network in home.

Is that all? Off course not, you still need to configure the modem in order to be able to get the internet access (ADSL) and share it across the network. Is that a hard thing to do? Not at all, what you need to do is have a phone call to your ISP to guide you configure the modem (if you are not familiar with the networking), and you need to have the user-name and password with you (provided by the ISP at the first time you signed up). That’s it, and you can create the wireless network in home easily and let other computers (with wireless adapters) connect wirelessly to get the internet access.

The following figure is a simple networking diagram that uses ADSL wireless modem with couple of computers with wired connection and couple of laptops with wireless connection to the router modem. The phone line (ADSL line) is connected to the splitter to let you share the internet line and the phone line at the same time without interference each other. Some types of wireless modem routers include one US port to let share the shared storage across the network for example DGND3300 by Netgear.
